The Voice Australia Season 2, Episode 23 - And the winner is...going to be revealed next week.

8 semifinalists are left. Tonight, the 4 finalists will be revealed. This is The VOICE...Australia.

Right off the bat, Darren welcomes us to the semi-finals but nobody cares because we are all excited to see who gets in to the final. Before we know the results, the coaches perform Livin' La Vida Loca. Next. Oh look, Joel has pink and purple zigzag highlights. Meh.

We go back to the clunky scheduling of 2 weeks ago when the artists performed before the results. I hate this format.

Celia Pavey from Team Delta is up first. Delta gives her Xanadu and I'm ready to fly to Australia and give her a slap. Terrible. Song. Choice. One reason she chooses this song is to get Celia off the guitar. That and it gives the stage managers room to transform the stage into a 1980's disco room. Celia does the best job she can with that song but ehhh...the song doesn't suit her at all. (7.5/10)

Steve Clisby is next and he's given Change the World. I don't get him nor understand why Australia likes him so much. I hate his attitude and being 67 years old doesn't excuse him from it. His singing is the same. Bar/lounge performance. (4/10)

Finally, results time. Celia moves on. YES! Justice. Steve says a few words of thanks before pointing skyward toward the audience as he exits.

Advancing to top 4: Celia
Eliminated: Steve

Team Seal is next. Harrison Craig is asked to perform Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers. Uh oh. This song is extremely difficult to sing. The key change is Harrison's biggest challenge. Everyone will be waiting for that moment. Harrison starts off bad. His first note...yikes. But all the girls in the audience scream anyway. Everyone is holding their breath waiting for the key change. The chorus is not bad. The next verse is quite good. Here comes the key change. A slight flub as he's going down on the key change but he nails the first note and that is the most important. He finishes the song well. (7/10)

Mitchell is singing To Love Somebody. He sounds really good this time. He is really attacking the song and is hitting all the right notes. He ends with a fantastic falsetto note. That was his best solo performance. (7.5/10)

The results are in and it's no surprise that Harrison is into the final. Mitchell is sadly eliminated. I would have taken him over any of Joel's team.

Advancing to top 4: Harrison
Eliminated: Mitchell

It's Team Joel's turn and it's time for two artists I dislike. Kiyomi Vella goes first. In the video package, Joel feels that Kiyomi's dangerous and that she is a problem...for everyone. Oh, I thought he was going to say for himself because he is SOOOO into Danny. Kiyomi sings Running Up That Hill and she sounds excellent. That's my favourite performance of hers. Surely, her being on top of Danny on iTunes last week is a good sign she makes it, right? (8/10)

Danny Ross is performing Let Her Go. I am completely mesmerized. Not by his singing, of course, it's still as off tune as ever, but what he is wearing. He comes out wearing his signature hat and a cape. A CAPE. He looks like Count Dracula. Ridiculous. (3.5/10)

We will know Team Joel's remaining artist...after the break. When we return, Darren points out that this is one of the closest votes this season. Uh oh. Danny moves through. Kiyomi is sent home. Apparently, iTunes wasn't enough to save Kiyomi.

Advancing to top 4: Danny
Eliminated: Kiyomi

One team remains and this is going to be one of the toughest eliminations ever. Team Ricky is the last team yet to know their fate. Naturally, Miss Murphy is going first. She will sing Love Don't Live Here Anymore. She sounds great but the song is boring and not good. Love her voice. (8/10)

Ricky picks Caruso for Luke Kennedy. Luke has a huge advantage over Miss Murphy. This song is great. I don't find Luke's voice to be anything great or special but it's a serviceable rendition. He does a nice job. (7.5/10)

The last person to move on tonight is...Luke. Miss Murphy rocked the stage but she simply didn't have the votes that Luke had despite being in front of Luke on iTunes the whole week. I wish she had moved on. I felt for her when she started tearing up.

Advancing to top 4: Luke
Eliminated: Miss Murphy

The final 4 are revealed and now we move onto the final phase of the competition. Each artist will perform 1 original song.

Rankings

1. Miss Murphy
2. Kiyomi
3. Mitchell
4. Luke
5. Celia
6. Harrison
7. Steve
8. Danny

1. Luke Kennedy - Love is Gone (6/10)

The song is not bad but it exposes his whiny tone in his voice. He's a bit off pitch, flat on some notes. Wow, very screechy and straining on that high note. Those high notes were terrible. Seal said it was his favourite performance of Luke's. He adds on that it allowed us some insight as to who Luke really is. Ricky says some incomprehensible nonsense about how this is Luke and that he's not hiding behind anything.

2. Celia Pavey - Candle in the Night (9/10)

I love this song. The only thing that I heard from the video package was that this song has been seen 400,000 times on Youtube, oh and that this song was written for Hugo. I miss the raw innocence that the Youtube version had. A couple of pitch problems but beautiful. She didn't even perform the best part of the whole song. I'm kind of annoyed now. Joel says she did great on both songs and then starts rambling about Hugo and he looks PISSED. Delta says a multitude of accolades and then Joel shouts out 'HUGO' after Delta talks about Hugo. Then Darren makes a snarky comment about Hugo not getting enough shout outs. Nice.

3. Danny Ross - Windmill (2/10)

Joel says Danny paints a picture and that he's a storyteller. I don't agree. He starts the song and I notice 2 windmills in the background. Nice job, stage guys. Oh, the song. The song is boring and his singing is not great. Off pitch and flat for most of the song. Delta starts talking about the lyrics in his song but not the singing. She commends him for doing a vulnerable tune. Joel says Danny doesn't need him anymore.

4. Harrison Craig - More Than A Dream (10/10)

Harrison is performing a song about his past; his dad leaving, stuttering, being bullied and also his support system, his family. This song is outstanding. He sounds excellent. He just won The Voice, you guys. Ricky pretty much agrees and starts crying mid critique. Seal goes on a long diatribe virtually saying Harrison will win The Voice without saying it directly.

Everyone has performed but we have a special performance coming up from Timomatic. No one really cares though.

Rankings

1. Harrison

The winner: Harrison
